I came into the firearms world in the mid-2000s. That was an era of many advances in firearms technology, which made it tough to appreciate older guns. Now that I’ve been around for a while (and have started getting some greys) I’m beginning to look back. There’s no gun with more charm than a classic made from wood and steel, chambered in a caliber that lets you know when it’s barking. One of the newest of those firearms comes from Taylor’s & Company with the introduction of the TC86 Takedown Rifle.
Taylor’s & Company, the world’s leading marketers and importers of state-of-the-art historical firearms utilizing the latest innovative designs, is pleased to announce the addition of “The TC86 Takedown” rifle to their Lifestyle Series for 2021.
The TC86 Takedown Rifle
The 1886 was designed by our king, John Moses Browning. The TC86 is an updated version of that design. The hardened steel receiver mates with a checkered walnut stock and forend. The octagonal barrel has an updated twist rate to better handle modern ammunition. The gun feeds from a tubular magazine with a capacity of eight rounds.
